Hi

I'm off to Gambia in a couple of weeks; a couple of money questions:

The generally posted excgange rates seem to be in the 42/43 range

I intend to change money in Gambia from UK pounds because that seeems the general advice

I feel I should arrive in the country with a small amount of Gambian cash, just in case money, I intended to change £50 before I go. Only a few places seem to do it and the the Post Office at 34D to the £ seems as good as any. Anybody know anywhere better, is that really as good as I am going to get in the UK?

When I get to the Gambia,I am staying at the Kombo Beach and I understand that there is a Bureau close by. Do I need to shop around or is it OK to use this most convenient place. How close to 43 can I expect in this sort of establishment?

hi just got mine today from first choice holiday hypermarket at 36.82 to the pound didnt even need to order as they had it in coop travel is about the same rate but you will need to order it as you will find with most places

even at the gambia airport you can change money there for better rate anytime the flight lands, is better to change there than to change in UK.
