I will be flying into Livingstone airport on 14th Dec @ 12:30 afternoon and will be flying out from Livingstone 17th at 13:15. We plan to stay on the Zimbabwe side (perhaps Ilala Lodge) as it is cheaper and you have better town amenities there (and I am lucky enough to not need a visa to cross). So, my questions are as follows:
1. Can I book all 3 nights on the Zimbabwe side or should I book 2 nights Zimbabwe and 1 night Zambia. The only reason I want to be on the Zambian side is to do Devil's swim, and perhaps Livingstone Island tour. I would be more inclined to just stay in Zimbabwe the whole time but I guess my question is whether logistically, we'd be able to just walk over to Zambia to do those things.
2. I've read that I would need Yellow Fever vaccination on the Zambian side. If I have it all done here in the UK before I go, would that be ok or do I need a fresh one? I suppose they would ask for a certificate too? How cheap and easy is it to get it done over there by the way?
3. How long would the transfer to the Livingstone airport take from say Ilala lodge? (allowing for traffic as well). Just need to know what time I need to leave on the last day to catch my 13:15 plane to JNB.
4. Time permitting, is it worthwhile considering a day trip to Chobe, as it is December (I heard it's not good for animals but birding ok). Not really into birding but would you say the experience itself would be enjoyable? Don't know when the next time I will be in the region!
So there you go. Thanks in advance for any thoughts and comments.
