Do we need to pre book activities 1st week in Sept?

Hi

We (4 adults) will be in Victoria Falls for a couple of days from 1 to 3 Sept - do we need to pre book activities prior to arrival or can these be organised upon arrival (staying at Ilala Lodge)? Our absolute must does are bungy, Livingstone Island & helicopter (plus sunset cruise & Boma dinner if we can squeeze them in).

Thanks in advance

Hi there

Bear in mind that September is peak season and the Falls will be busy. The chances of you being able to do the activities that you want at the times you want are slim, unless you book them in advance. Livingstone island for instance has a max of 16 people per trip and there are only 5 trips per day, some considerably more expensive than others so the trip and time you want could easily be full or overlap with the time slots available for the helicopter or other activity, which means you could miss out. You also want the opportunity to do these activities at their best times of day not just the left overs.

To get an itinerary right fitting everything together nicely and ensuring that you squeeze in everything you want to do can take considerable time, the question is do you want to be spending your holiday time doing this? In my view I think it is better to do this beforehand, so when on holiday you can just enjoy knowing everything is organised. There should be no difference in price between pre-booking online or booking when you get there.

Hi there

You can still book these activities upon arrival .the only activity you can book in advance is the visit of the livingstone island .

Hi there

Day 1)First day of arrival you can do the sunset cruise which leaves at 4:30pm and pick up time at ilala is at 4:00pm.

Day 2) You can do your tour of the falls in the morning from 9:00am to 11:00am .soon after the tour of the falls you can go and do bungy, then back to the hotel for lunch .after your lunch you can visit the open market then have your dinner at ilala.

Day 3)You can do the livingstone island tour ,after luch you can do the helicopter .then go to the boma in the evening at 7:00pm.

since you will be doing the livingstone island tour you need the yellow fever vaccination ,which you can do before you come ,and don't leave the yellow cards that you get after the vaccination.

Apon your arrival at the Victoria falls airport you need to buy a double entry visa.

Hope this itinerary will help you enjoy your holiday in Victoria falls

Thanks for the input & suggestions. We have pre- booked the Livingstone Island trip, helicopter, sunset cruise & Boma with the remainder of our time left for adhoc activities. Was able to organise all of this through our hotel with payment upon arrival so am pretty happy with the way this has all paned out - thanks again for the help.
