Lots of good advice on other psosts for you to research but in answer to your specific posts.
Weather in August is warming up again and there is little chance of rain except around the mountains.
Temps may be coolish at night at Ngorongoro but you wont freeze to death. It will be hot during the day so pack layers.
Packing? the standard advice is to take three sets of everything and use the excellent laundries in your Lodges. When you have packed, take out half and that is about right.
Money. Local currency is TZ Shilling and useful for local purchases. Otherwise US$. Take a spread of denominations. Many Lodges bill you in $$ for extras. some in TZsch.
Change all TZ currency back before you leave. It is useless in UK.
Have a good trip.
Hi, Many thanks for the advice. I have been looking at the forums for weeks, really good advice from people. We are really looking forward to our trip. Thanks again Popperoo
mfuwe hit the nail on the head for you. Other then that know that it is always warm in Tz and the only time the weather gets moderated is when you are at elevations. You are about 3 degrees off the equator and that should signify what the weather will be, tropical and sometimes humid. Rains are not monsoonal but when they come it typically clears up quickly.
