We have changed out itinerary a little bit and added three nights from the original (cancelled) trip.
This is what we have so far:
Night one, arrive just before 9 PM, and stay at KIA or African Tulip (or the like)
Night two--Arusha National Park (this is a late addition. Mr S would like to see different eco-systems on our short safari). we don't have an accommodation chosen here yet. (suggestions welcome and yes of course I have "searched." haha)
Nights 3 & 4, Boundary Hill. I'm still a bit concerned about the drive...
Night 5, Ol Tukai
Nights 6 & 7--Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge
Nights 8, 9 & 10, Ndutu, Eastco's mobile camp
Nights 11, 12 & 13, Serengeti, probably Kati Kati, but I can change it....
We're undecided about flying to Entebbe (and then on to the gorillas) from Serengeti in the toy planes, or driving around Lake Vic. to Uganda and the gorillas. I can see benefits both ways. but I'd have to be unconscious for the flight. Mr S likes the idea of driving around the lake. I'm leaning that way too, but not sure I want to take up the extra nights.
We have cut back our Uganda portion this trip. ka-ching ka-ching--it was getting out of hand. So we are going to concentrate 5 or 6 nights in the far southwest to trek gorillas, and see some of the land and its people. slow down. (no chimps tho.) I'm interested in the Batwa Trail (anthropology again)
Anyway more about that on the Uganda forum.
Advice needed here: we don't really like one-night stands and would prefer to minimize them. If we drive around the lake there will be a couple (or three) which can't be avoided. Is there a way to consolidate something here (in the Tanzania segment) so as to not have three one-night stands?
as always, thanks!
