My guidebook Rough Guide has only 4 listings for hotels in Rabat's old city.
End of October I stayed in one of them, Al Maghrib al Jadid, which was a huge disappointment, after having traveled all the way from Taroudant. The management told me over the phone that I would have to take a double as there were no singles available. When he opened the door to the "double" room for me, my spirits sank when I saw a very small room with 2 single beds crammed into it. At an exorbitant cost of 150dh, already paid up front.
I liked walking around in the old Medina/Kasbah, and I saw signs for many hotels, everywhere I turned really. I am writing to ask if anyone knows if a comprehensive evaluation has been done on every hotel in this area of Rabat. If such a study has been done, where are the results available?
I think there could be some hidden gems out there that are not properly appreciated. Or maybe not.
Any personal recommendations?
