Guided food tour

Hi,

I have seen a previous post where there was debate over whether to ask the Riad for a food tour. However, there were not any concrete suggestions.

We've enjoyed food tours abroad and would love to find one where we visit markets, try local cuisine and see the 'unseen' side of Marrakech.

If anyone has been on a tour like this (organised through their Riad or elsewhere) names and locations would be very helpful!

Thanks

If you can give the staff/management of your chosen riad sufficient notice (a couple of days!) then a tour of local food markets and visits to eateries that locals frequent can easily be organised. The areas around Bab Doukkala in the north west of the medina and next to the Mellah (officially called Hay Essalam where there are two covered food markets) to the south are particularly good to visit. Some riads will organise provisions shopping and cookery lessons (and eating!) on the same day.

Hi,

If your Riad doesn't offer this service here are three very popular options;

Yes, Your riad is the one can manage that for you, the cooking Class, or use the links provided by Simmin.

Hi Live London Team,

Did you go on a food eating tour in the end? I will be going to Marrakech in October and would like to do something similar. Just eating, no cooking.

Thanks.
