Young children in Marrakech

Hello! My sister and I will take my three daughters 12, 9 and 5 to Europe this summer and our girls would like to visit Northern Africa. Marrakech seems to be a relatively safe option, rich in culture and history. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to spend our time there; restaurants to try, hotels to consider. Is it safe to eat and drink from the food vendors? Will a party of females only be safe in the medina square after dark? From which European city would you suggest we fly? We are planning to visit Paris, Venice, Barcelona and London. Thank you

Hi,

Spending time here is easily organised by looking in the restaurants, things to do and hotels tabs on the left of the page. Loads of people have taken the time to post reviews and recommendations and you should make use of their experiences.

Street food is great in Morocco and as they are serving so many people per day nothing is kept warm in the back of the shop; most snacks are cooked in front of you.

Have a look at the female safety posts in the top questions box on the right of the page, again loads of previously posted advice and opinions from women who have visited are available there.

You can fly from many European cities. Check the airline webpages.

Hi Elburnette;

First of all, you are welcome to Marrakech forums.

regarding the flights try to fly from London there is so many flights to Marrakech since you will visit several places in Europ then try to take a flight at the last one you will in, as London is the best place to fly from.

Marrakech, is a very good and safe place for Young Children, There is no problem in that as they will find it amazing place to enjoy their trip in, by evening time try to wander in the Jemaa el Fna square, not to keep late outside, for more information please use the search box for any concerns.

at the right side of your screen there is many helpful links to check before your travel to Morocco.

Have fun.

Regarding flights it depends on which order you visit the various city destinations but Barcelona has the nearest airport, only two hours to Marrakech. See here for example:
