I am going to Marrakech in March and are not sure what currency it is? Need help quick or NOT going to be happy. :-(

Hi there! The currency in Marrakech is the Dirham! If you have Euros or Sterlling you can change it at the arrival in Marrakech airport at the bureau de change but there are also ATM machines both at the airport and in the City. Scottish notes are not accepted in banks in Morocco and many banks are uncomfortable accepting travellers cheques. You should also know that Marrakech has largely a ‘cash economy’. Credit cards are not widely accepted except in top restaurants and antique shops.
