Hi,

Your choices of May or Sept/Oct should give you the temperatures you want (but weather prediction is a dodgy business) so have a look in the Top Questions box on the right of the page for historical weather patterns and more. Look in the tabs on the left of the page for Things To Do, Travel Guide and travellers articles. The hotel tab will let you set parameters regarding price, facilities etc then maybe send a message to a few reviewers to narrow your choice.

AI or half board is down your preference but have a look at the restaurants tab as well and you'll see there are many excellent restaurants here so you may want to eat out more than once. Lastly have a look at the Riads reviews before you decide on a hotel outside the medina for a chance to stay in a converted townhouse in the old city.

Time of year can be dependant on your personal interests too. Architectural and historical cultural sites are open all year round (depending on local and national holidays of course) and your best base for these are in the medina. If flora and fauna interest you then the High Atlas is within easy reach of Marrakech and offers spectacular displays of Spring blossom in early Eastertime. Both spring and autumn offer their own choices for day trips and depending on how long you are planning to visit an overnight stay in the Atlantic coastal town of Essaouira is worth considering (three hours by Supratours bus.) In autumn the Dades and Todra gorges are spectacular with ksours and kasbahs. Local cuisine varies too with Berber, Arab and Mediterranean influences. You will not find a lack of things to do and see!

Return to the forums when your ideas begin to gel and follow the advice given above for accommodation possibilities, but in my experience (and only an opinion here) an all inclusive hotel deal limits your potential experience of what Marrakech and its surroundings have to offer you.

We loved that weather there in January! It was mid 70's for temps and we are from from Minnesota (right on the Canadian border in the USA) and we found it to be almost tropical! No crowds, no rain. We had an outstanding trip! I'd highly recommend the Riad we stayed at, and the guide we hired to take us to to Zagora for our night in the Bedouin tent community.

We had pleasantly warm sunshine, rain and very cold nights in Jan but the air in the Mountains was like crystal. As long as we were wrapped up we were happy.

Late April was temperate to quite hot (in British terms) with the most incredible storms. Perfect and spectacular.

I have to disagree with ayuz, with all due respect.

Morocco can be cold in wintertime, whereas the spring is pleasant and the nature blooming. Would suggest May, then again October.

February and March are springtime here - the time for propagating crops and with fruit trees in blossom as an added bonus. This spectacle is over in the relatively hot month of May.
