Wedding Anniversary Dinner - best restaurant in Marrakech

My husband and I will be celebrating our wedding anniversary in June on a Saturday night. Should we go to Dar Yacout/Le Moroccain at the Mamounia/Le Comptoir? Or is there anywhere even better for good Moroccan food that serves alcohol?

hi

We had a dreadful experience at the Comptoir last New Years Eve. It was totally overpriced and included only half a bottle of wine per head, the additional bottles where so expensive. They gave out goodie bags with trumpets and masks etc but one of our friends was stopped at the door as we left and made to hand over her goodie bag being told she was not allowed to take it away. We have not been back.

However, a visit before New Year did provide a better experience and the entertainment was good.

For a very refined meal we really like Amanjane, it's a short taxi ride out of town and is not your traditional Moroccan experience but the building is a perfect mix of traditional architecture used in a totaly modern way.

There is a traditional menu and also a very good Thia menu, which is great when you've had one too many tagines.

Allow time after dinner for a walk around the gardens, they are beautiful at night, better still book a room or one of the villas.

This is a more subdues experience with plenty of space between the tables. Last time we where there there was entertainement which I imagine there is most saturdays but might be worth checking.

Have a great anniversary
