Any suggestions on how to book a driver or taxi from the airport in Casablanca to Oualidia? Can I just find a grand taxi at the airport and negotiate a price on the spot? The hotel I'm staying at offered a driver at a rate that seems way too high and I think I'm much better off figuring it out on my own. Any ideas on how much it shoud cost? Thanks so much!

I think this is possible with a Grand Taxi from the airport. As far as I'm aware, the "official" price on the panel at the head of the taxi rank is 650 dirhams to El Jadida (although I pay considerably less as I have a regular taxi driver to take me there). From El Jadida to Oualidia is 150 dirhams in a Grand Taxi, so together, it shouldn't be more than 700 as a direct journey, although if you insist on the motorway, you will have to pay the tolls on top. I have an idea that there is an official price on the panel for Oualidia but I can't swear to this.
Please ask at the airport information desk for up-to-date fares to Oualidia. The taxi drivers often try to say the panel prices are out-of-date, so don't go over the information desk/panel price.
As a matter of interest, what was the price quoted by the hotel?
By the way, I mention "official" prices as it is perfectly possible to bargain the drivers down for interurban destinations.

The price quoted was 1900 MAD. I realize that this is an exagerated price for convenience of tourists and also because we are staying at a luxury hotel. However, I would prefer to find my own way and save on the transportation costs and spend my money on hotel, food and drinks!:) Thank you for your input, it's been very helpful!

Oh no. He's a regular Grand Taxi driver whom I've known for years and who has built up a tidy little business transporting foreigners around, mainly to and from the airport. He drives carefully (a real find in Morocco) and has a reasonably modern car. Let me get on to him and ask. I have no idea what price he will quote or if he would be free.
If you think his price is ok, I shall have to send you information by private message, his phone number and so on as otherwise it will be seen as advertising or promotion. You would need to contact him yourself to confirm etc if he is free.

I spoke to the guy and he has quoted 850 dirhams from the airport. There would be no discount, firstly as you're not (yet) a regular customer and secondly as he would not get a fare back from Oualidia to El Jadida. If you want his number, I can send that by private message.
