Hotel for one NIght in Casablanca (close to the airport?)?

Hello Guys, how are you?

Im gonna arrive at Casablanca at night for leaving to Marrakesch early in the next day morning.

Do you know an ok hotel for one night, maybe close to the airport or in the very city center?

It can be a mid range one, since I´ll bein honey moon, but fortunately the bride is not perfeccionist in hotel matters...:)

Thank you!

Sarkis

Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage.

Please don't be tempted into choosing the Atlas Airport Hotel, which is near the airport. It has a very bad reputation.

You don't mention if you are travelling on to Marrakech by train or plane. Either way, the best bet is the Ibis Moussafir Hotel, right next to Casa Voyageurs station. If you are taking the train to Marrakech, you are 30 yards from the station. If you are taking the plane, you are an easy 32 minute train ride back the airport. There are hourly departures from the Mohammed V airport to Casa Voyageurs and back, so it is easy to get the train to and from this hotel.

In addition, the hotel and station are right next to one of the new Tramway stops, so if you have time, you can hop on the tram to Place Nations Unies and have a walk around some of the sights. Or you can take the tram to the terminus at Ain Diab and walk along the beach.

Do make another post if you need further information.

Try to go to the city of Casablanca if you have enough time, then stay at Hotel Maamoura as a good fine hotel in the city Center, but for a very close Hotel to the air-port the one John warn you about is the closest if you have no choice, but ask for a good room as i agree it's not good but better than staying outside.

Congratulations, Have Fun.

Thank you friends! :)

Well, Im leaving Casablanca by car, I hired an agency, Wild Morocco, wich will drive to Marrakech around 10 o clock in the morning next day. I will arrive at Casablanca around 19.

So I dont know If you guys think I might try to go to Casablanca center to try to enjoy something of the city even for a few hours at night, or if I should be close to the aiport since with this short time its meaningless to go to city center...what do you think?

It's always worth going into a new city to have a look!

Where is this car picking you up from or where do you pick it up? If the car will come to where you are staying, then it's best to stay at the Ibis Moussafir, as previously mentioned. From there, you can get into town on the Tramway. Get off at Place Nations Unies, have a look in the Ancienne Medina and the Square Mohammed V at least. DON"T be tempted to try the Parc de la Ligue Arabe at night. Have a coffee in the Cafe de France on Place Nations Unies and watch the world go by.

If you're not too tired after your trip, you can eat, expensively or cheaply. If you want further info on that, I can give it to you.

The car will pick me up anywhere I stay in Casablanca..if I stay at Ibis, is there something interesting in its surroundings so I can take a quick look or is it a place just for sleeping?

Thank you friend!

6. Re: Hotel for one NIght in Casablanca (close to the airport?)?

You would need to get to the centre on the tramway from the Ibis. It's about 7 or 8 minutes on the tram, a bit too far to walk, although I have done so. I recommend the Ibis as it's right next to the station, literally 30 yards, so you can get there easily by train from the airport and no hassle about getting taxis and so on.

Please, please don't stay at the Atlas Airport hotel, which has a shuttle service from the airport.

Alternatively you could stay at the Kenzi Basma or Atlas Les Almohades hotels in the centre and get a Grand Taxi from the airport for 250 dirhams. These hotels are just off Place Nations Unies.

Again, John only heard about the hotel Atlas, but I was staying one night there and it was NOT so terrible and I cannot complain. It is not hotel to stay there more nights, but one night is OK. It is really near, they have shuttle service and if you arrive at Casablanca at night and will leave early morning you have not so much opportunity to look to the center of Casa.

Hi Khamlia

I value your opinion and it's perfectly valid to give a view from personal experience. However, my advice is based on other, very real opinions from 100s of people who have reviewed this hotel and given their own personal experience on TA and elsewhere. The majority of these people has said that the hotel is terrible for a variety of reasons. Moreover the OP has asked if he would be able to have a look around town. He would be unable to do so from the Atlas Airport hotel as it is in such an isolated position. Arriving in Casa at 19:00 means getting to the Ibis Moussafir at about 21:00, enough time to go downtown have a wander and/or get a bite to eat either poshly or cheaply in Rue Colbert next to the Marché Centrale right by a convenient tram stop. The OP would be able to get a flavour of Morocco there in the busy snacks and streets of the area.
