I'm going to Foodland for poke.
I'm packing my collapsible cooler for picnic lunches as much as possible.
It seems that sunsets are around 5:45 pm when I'm there, so I'll be at restaurants like Hula Grill, Kimos, Dukes (by the way, I'm pretty sure these three restaurants are all part of the same chain) at around 5:00 pm (haven't looked at their websites for happy hours, so hoping 5 is not too late) for early bird specials.
Our condo complex has outdoor grills. I am so looking forward to doing some cooking, enjoying a cocktail, and keeping a lookout for whales!
There are so many ways to enjoy unusual, affordable food when visiting Hawaii. Hope you spend some time on this forum and the left side of the page, Restaurants, to create your own list. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
