 Duke's restaurant Maui

We are going over in mid April. Anyone know if they have opened this location yet and where is it?

hmm... didn't know they were opening one there. There is a Kimo's in Lahaina which I believe is the same chain as Dukes.

The new Duke's was supposed to open this month but I haven't heard anything...I'll let you know when I get back in a couple of weeks!

Aloha bogieman,

mamma is right, as she always is, Duke's was scheduled to open at the new resort the Honua Kai that is located next to the Mahana Resort. That is now undecided, but there will be a beach side restaurant, probably not until early 2010 though. They will have the Aina Gourmet Deli opening in two weeks and managed by Pacifi'O though. The guests and the general public will be able to purchase deli type food and the guests of the Honua Kai will also be able to purchase pre-prepared frozen "gourmet" dinners to take to their condos and heat and eat....sounds like a great concept to me!! My friend who is involved in the marketing gave me this info. so I think it is pretty accurate, but we know how quickly things can change in Maui:-) Maybe if someone can give us a report if they eat there, that would be great! Wonder what a frozen "gourmet" dinner tastes like after heating in the micro:-)

mamma, when you go are you going to check out the remodeled Maui Brew in Kahana and also RB Black Angus Steakhouse that took over the Outback space next to Maui Brew? I haven't read any reports on either yet. Thanks:-)

SBB yup...the Maui Brewing is high on our list we went several times last year...friends went in early Dec and LOVED it...not sure about the Black Angus, we tend to avoid the chains when on Maui and especially when they are right next to the Brewery!

Dukes hasn't opened yet but the same owners have Kimo;s in Lahaina, Leilanis in Whalers Village (we like their early bird) and I think they are part owners of Hula Grill at Whalers Village..

Only reason I asked about Dukes was in the golf news it was said that some of the players etc went to Dukes in Kapalua during the tiurnament last week. It is a great place to stop on Oahu and Kauai for some cheaper eats and people watching.

Be sure to try Kimos. It has a great waterfront location in Lahaina and the food is fabulous.
