planning on going to Angelines Massage for a 2-person (4-handed) massage. wondering whether it is expected to give a full 15-20% tip to each of the two people doing the massage, or if you would split 20% between them? don't want to offend anyone, but 40% tip is pretty spendy!!!

I'd say 20% of the total for both of you split between each of them since they did half of the work.

15% is within reason unless they were the BEST message you've ever had.

I'd give 20%. There are two people working the same hour hour on you.

20% Total. Not each.

I'll betcha the 2 person massage costs more than a one person one. So tipping 15-20 percent of the fee to be divided between the 2 is fair.

My spas here began to "customarily" add an 18 percent gratuity to the bill unless one objects. Fine by me because I used to give 20 percent, hah hah.

Look at it this way: each of them is charging you half the total fee. So tipping 20 oercent of total gives each the right tip.

I would object to 18% add on.

Tipping is a really annoying American custom. I would rather people just charge a flat rate of what they want for their service.

Well, if I objected to the add on I'd be back tipping 20 percent, my point is their practice does not benefit them.

I tip where tipping is customary, don't where it is not. And don't get me started about VAT.

I'll bite: what's wrong with the VAT. Even with it, prices in Europe for many things are much cheaper than in the US. Not true for everything, but all in all, I didn't find the cost of living higher in Europe.

But did you know that Hawaii's excise tax is similar to the VAT? Almost every middleman adds the 4.16% to merchandise, so it adds up, on average to 20% they say. Given that, I wonder why things don't seem more expensive. We have the cost of shipping things, but not much more it seems. The 8%+ sales tax in California is what really seems expensive at the checkout.
