We just got back from spending a week in Roatan, staying at Henry Morgan Resort. We had a great time. The resort was beautiful, cosy, the staff is very friendly and they will try to accomodate you (eg, our room balcony didn't have a hammock, while others did. I asked at the reception and the conquest rep. and next day they installed one for me).
The food was good. Buffet style, with lots of choices. It was same types of food (chicken, beef, pork, fish, veggies, pasta etc.), just prepared differently, but the quality of the food was very good.
The beach was great. Beautiful sandy beach, with a gradual water entry. There is a reef which breacks up the waves so that the water is very calm. The beach is very long, on one end about 10min walk you get to the beginning of the reef. It is perfect for snorkeling. In the other direction of the beach you can walk to West End village (approx 45min) where you will find restaruants, gift shops, etc.
I went scuba diving with TGIDiving shop located within Henry Morgan resort. The shop is top notch. You can expect to pay apporx $40 per dive (cheaper if you have your own equipment $30). The only thing is that the shark dive which they outsorce to Wahiki Adveture diving and the cost TGI charges is $90/dive. If you contact Wahiki directly you can do it for cheaper. The diving in Roatan is amazing. I did the wreck dive at approx 120ft, night dive was cool, but the shark dive is top notch. Made my trip.
Overall I have to rate this hotel as very good. Better that some 5* hotels I stayed at before.
