Almost the whole country is in SUMMER time...great sunny days...nice dark nights with millions of stars...a lot of happy people visitors and locals!

January is a perect time to visit Costa Rica. Recomended times to visit are Dec. - Apr. Have fun!!

Can be very busy though as is it High Season so do book hotels and car rental in advance to avoid disappointment!

Nice time of year for a visit, hot but still green from the rainy season. Some rivers may be low if you are looking to do some rafting, that gets worse the further into the dry season you get. Aside from that a great time to come.

As the others mentioned, the majority of the country is in the Dry Season in January. It is a little wet on the Caribbean side though. Personally, I do not mind it as everything is so lush and beautiful.
