 Snorkeling in Costa Rica

Hi,

I am planning to be in Costa Rica in August for just shy of two weeks

Does anyone know where could we go snorkeling?

Also, we heard that there is great snorkeling by the border with panama? Is it easy to cross the border to get to Boca del Toro

regards,

berttie

Hi,

Yes, the best snorkeling is definitely on the Caribbean side, Cahuita/Puerto Viejo/Manzanillo. You can easily cross over the border, just find out about the bus situations.

Have a great time,

Hi Berttie, CR isn't known for great snorkeling, we went several times both at Manuel Antonio and Manzanillo during the dry season with no recent rain, but still had very poor visibity. We had one decent (visibility) day at Manzanillo, the reef was okay, but far from great. The beaches, jungle and land based activities are fantastic :)

Check out Oceans Unlimited in Manuel Antonio...www.oceansunlimitedcr.com. They are very helpful and will be able to give you more information.
