Belize city for business and vacation.

Need help in choosing a hotel. We are conducting seminars in Belize City and 50 miles inland. Want a good hotel that we can drive from so offshore resorts wont work. we've been steered to Princess which has horrible reviews. Radisson seems like preferred choice in town. We do need WiFi and breakfast options. Would love resort quality that we can drive into town for business. Any ideas? We are going first week of Oct. After business we plan to do a nice resort for 3 days.

Check out Villa Boscardi. I've stayed there many times, and would never stay anywhere else in BC. For the nice resort, check out Chaa Creek!

Happy Lectures!

In Belize City, I wouldn't call the Princess "horrible", but from what you've said, I think the Radisson would be the better choice (restaurant/bar, swimming pool, don't know about wifi). It's located about 1 km from the downtown area (a BZ$6 taxi ride if you don't feel like walking) and in a reasonably safe area of the City, but always be aware of your surroundings -- there have been a few robberies in the area.

The Princess is a couple of km from the downtown area and situated on the shore -- also a safer area of the city, but I wouldn't walk around after sunset. The hotel has a casino, swimming pool, marina, restaurant/bar, small gym room, bowling alley, cinema.

Do you need a hotel in Belmopan, or will you be commuting?

We are getting a car so we are doing the drive each morning then back to BC after our training seminars. Maybe horrible was a poor choice of words but the majority of the reviews are negative on the Princess.

I'll look up some reviews but any suggestions about where the locals eat? I hate being stuck with the usual tourist restaurants. When I travel the best places are always where the locals like to eat.
