I dont know about the rest of you but I just love midevil times resturant and dinner show. I have done this twice now when I have traveld to LA area and both times I loved it so much and so did every member of my family. I highly reccomend it to any planning on going there. They have a web site if you wish to check it out. We are going again in Sept and of course its on our trip intenurary for the first night we are there. You must make reservations first a few days ahead of time. And you should plan to get there early so you can check out the beautifull gift shop that has the horses stalls right there for viewing the horses in the show. Plus some things go on in the lobby for entertainment before the show starts. Its a livly show and every body gets into the act screaming and cheering for their own knight. And your incoraged to boo loudly for their opponents. If you dont like all that livlyness then dont go but if your into this kind of thing its is really a fun time and the food was good as well. Its served in severial different courses on pewter plates and you eat with your hands. just like in midevil times! OHHH man I just cant wait to go again. And dont worry about a good seat there is not a bad one in the whole place. Every one gets to see the show very clearly. Its like a big arena. But if you are in one of the first 3 rows you have a better chance of catching a rose thrown at you from the knights. And ladies, those knights are all so handsome and if you see them after the show hanging out in the lobby they always refer to you as "my lady"! (sigh)The kids will love it the men will love the jousting and the ladies will love the handsom knights. A must see for all in my openion.

Happy vacationing.

Midevil Times is really fum -thanks for sharing......

you've captured the highlights of the place quite well...

For those wondering more about Mideival Times it is Buena Park (very close to Knotts Berry Farm).

The web site is:

Thanks, I have been wondering if the cost is justified. It seems interesting.

Yes, it still is a good hoot & holler!

When in Vegas, you might also try a very similar show at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino...

Too bad Wild Bills Western Show closed down in Buena Park. It was right across from Knott's too. Now I hear they're going to put up a Pirate Show there soon... (Should of had this too at Treasure Island in Vegas.) Enjoy!

I think the price is worth it. But thats because I love this type of entertainment. If you love all things midevil and you love jousting and loud cheering and joining in then it is worth it. The food is pretty good as well and there is alot of it. And the seats are all very good as every one gets to see the intire act with no problem. I've seen the show 3 times now and I would see it again and again because of all the fun that goes with it in joining in the act with cheering and boo ing. For example the King yells out "now Lords and Ladies, shall we have feast?" and then the audence yells back "yes sire! bring on the feast"! and then they start bringing out the food. Then when the villion is captured in the end they ask "lords and ladies shall we give him mercy or shall we give him death?" And every one screams out what they want! It is all so much fun. I never go to Aniheim with out seeing this show. I just love it. And if you are really crazy about it you even dress the part as well with midevil costume of your own. And if you dont have that well not to worry everyone is given their own crown to wear of a different color that matches which ever knight is yours. You wear his colors. They provide that for you. Its really a blast I cant say enough good things about it. My father in law even loved it and it really takes alot to impress him.

Happy vacationing!

ps: My husband loved it too and thought the food was good; the knights events and horses fun to watch; and even bought the picture (we usually don't....they are very low key about these things which made it nice. They take it when you enter the place and then just see if you want it or not...if not, its ok; if yes, its a great picture to keep) Just in case you're wondering if guys like the event too.

To all

One thing I forgot to mention for any one thinking of seeing this show.

Once you get inside the arena you are kind of boxed in your seat and its pretty hard getting out if you need to go to the bath room. So be sure you go before you go in. And if you think that you might need to go after then try to ask for a seat by the Isle. Its just that you might have to ask other people next to you to get up if you have to leave. It is kind of like a Movie theatre in the way the seating is laid out. Only with a long table in front of your seat. But still this type of seating is the best way for everyone to see the show with out obstructions. And if you have some one in your group that is handycapped they have a tables for that as well. Just request that in the front before you go in. Or ask for seating in the top row thats the first when you enter the arena. you wont have to deal with stairs that way.

Happy vacationing

Then I know your boys will really love this show! During peak seasons they have I think 3 shows a night. During the off seasons there is only 1 show a night. I have seen the shows 3 times and every single time it was as good as the first. I dont know how they do it but they put on a great show every time. And each show has a different ending as to who the villian will be so you never know how it will end.

And if your into torture machines, they have this little museum you can go through that shows all these old devices from the mid evil days that they used to get people to confess to crimes. There is a small fee to see it. That was, shall we say, somewhat inlighting. If you dont like that sort of thing skip it.

I think you wont be disipointed though if you put midevil times on your schedual for your next vacation there. They also have midevil times in other parts of the country as well its all on their web site.

Happy vacationing.

I notice they have two ticket prices. One regular and one for "special seating, etc. a video for each person in the party", etc. etc.

Since there will be 3 adults and 2 kids I can't imagine what we would do with the same 5 videos...and yet since this is a birthday

trip for the grandkids I want it to be very special and up front seating might be wonderful. On line it cost an extra $8.00 a person, i.e. an extra $40.00 and I just don't know if it would be worth it? Can you help me out here (and anyone else please chime in...Thank You

Thanks, Ladybat;

I just made reservations for this weekend! I used to 'pooh-pooh' going to this show, but now I have a son, I'm not such a snob, & I'm so excited. Looking forward to it...
