Where to stay?

Wondering if anyone could help a first time visitor to the Washington DC area decide between the following hotels. As a faimily of 6 we need as much room as possible, and found availability at the Residence Inn - 333 E. St. & the Embassy Suites - 1250 22nd St. Posts on this site would seem to indicate that the Embassy will be a nicer hotel, however the Residence is closr to all the things that a 1st time vistor is looking for.

Can anyone help me decide between these 2 locations?

Hi:

It's a tough call, but I think the deciding factor is what you plan to do at night. If you want to be able to walk to some decent restaurants, you're better off at Embassy Suites. If you don't mind taking the metro or cabbing at night, then the Residence Inn will be more convenient to most of the tourist attractions during the day. Also, if you plan to go anywhere besides the National Mall, the Embassy Suites is just as convenient - how old are your family members? With kids/teenagers, you may want to head into Georgetown one day/evening. It's walkable from the Embassy Suites. Anyway, hope this helps a little! Enjoy your trip.
