Astronomy in Maine?

Howdy everyone, my fiance love astronomy and I'd love to treat her to a little on our honeymoon in September. We'll be staying in Southwest Harbor and Camden. Does anyone know of any observatories, astronomy clubs or telescope rental places close to these areas?

Thanks for your help!

Acadia National Park Rangers often offer stargazing trips after dark. See http://www.nps.gov/acad/ranger.htm Check online and then when you arrive in Bar Harbor, be sure to stop at the Welcome Center in Hull's Cove to check out the "Beaver Log" for activities.

You should be in for some nice star gazing. One great thing about Maine is that you can get away from street lights, etc., so that the stars show up so much better.

Hi. Try Island Astronomy in Bernard, on Bass Harbor, south of Southwest. Have a great vacation.

There is a place in Bernard... close to Thurston's. I think you have to call ahead though.
