I am planning a trip for 3, myself (young adult - 27 yrs old), and my parents (2 senior citizens). I have been looking through this forum and several other sites and came to a conclusion I would want to plan a 6 to 8 days vacation for Orlando / Miami / Keywest (By the way I would be flying from NJ and planning my Trip in May end / 1st week of June 2013, this year). I dont drive and my parents are visitors to usa. Everyone keeps saying I need a car to visit Florida and I am wondering how to plan my trip, where to go first, where to stay, how much would be the cost of hotels, what are usual check in, check out timings for hotels there and how to plan my trip so that I can complete it in say 7 days with following covered WITHOUT CAR:
1. Disney World - 2 or 3 days max (i.e. 2 or 3 theme parks only - 1 Day each) - Mainly - Epcot, Magic Kingdom and Universal studios.
- Not sure where to stay, what would be nearest or convenient WITHOUT car. How much would be cost for 3 people for 2 nights / 3 days.
2. Miami - See South Beach. I really dont know what exactly is to see there other than beach, something which I would like to cover in max 1 day ( or say at the max return next day morning). Prefering something to come into Miami, see south beach and visit nearby places accessible without car, maybe cab, but I have no idea how much cabs cost there. Again not sure if I should plan to come to Miami first or Orlando / Keywest.
3. Keywest - Reading through everywhere I realize everyone says if you live in Old Town everything is accessible WITHOUT car. How much time would I need to see around Keywest this way? Is 1 and half to 2 days good enough to explore around? What are the best attractions in Keywest. Where should I stay in Old Town, how much do hotels cost, check in/out approx timings etc? Again not sure how to come here and from where, Miami? Orlando?
Any comments / advice / suggestions greatly appreciated. I dont go on vacations but really want to make this one good enough WITHOUT CAR (I understand I could have done much more if I would drive), but still. I am really concerned about not getting ourselves stressed out and exhausted without car (I have thereby greatly reduced what I want to see there), and if I have some idea about cabs / shuttles public transport to cover these 3 places, I am sure I would be satisfied enough (I know there is lot to see in florida). Thanks very much everyone in advance.Edited: 8:31 pm, February 21, 2013
