Hi all. We will be flying into and out of Denver over New Year's. We are a family of 4 with two boys 8 and 12. They have skied once before, last year for 5 days with lesons. The wife and I had skied a lot when we were younger, but now don't want to ski more than intermediate. I want to ski Nordic and do some snowshoeing as well. We would also like a nice "town" with restaurant options and some nightlife. The boys will want to take a day or two off and tube, snowmobile, etc.
The more I research, the more confused I get. We have a total of 8 days. I don't mind a long drive if it will be my best option. Flights to any other airport were way to expensive. I'd like to keep my lodging under $3,000 for the week if possible and prefer townhouse, condo, etc. I've reserved rooms (that I can cancel) at Vail Marriott and the Breckenridge DoubleTree with rewards points, (i.e.- it won't cost me). I was able to get one room at the Marriott with 2 double beds and 2 rooms at the DoubleTree. The reviews of the DoubleTree seem to be unimpressive.
