A short day in Tallinn

Hi all,

We are going on a cruise with St Peterline and would be doing a hop off at Tallinn from 11.30am - 7pm.

It's not a lot of time but we are hoping to get a good meal and some walks around the old city.

Would love it if anyone can recommend a good Estonian restaurant! (it's ok if it's a little further as long as it's walkable like within 30mins). Just Estonian cuisine. And what would you recommend we try.

Also, just wondering if it is difficult to walk about the old town and is it far from the ferry terminal.

Any advise is greatly appreciated!

The Old Town is an easy walk from the port and you can see it, so getting lost is pretty difficult. The Old Town is crammed with restaurants. The medieval-themed Ye Olde Hansa by Town Hall Square in the Old Town has always been a hit with visitors I've taken there - it's corny but fun and the food is good. Try the bear if you want something out of the ordinary.

Thanks for the replies!

Great to know that the port is nearby! Phew!

Read about Ye Olde Hansa too. Probably will be heading there or to Hell Hunt.

Cheers

Hell Hunt is a good option if you want to avoid Estonians. It's an ex-pat hangout. I was in there half an hour ago and there wasn't a single Estonian customer, same as last time. The food is OK but not Estonian - Brit-style pub grub. The beer's OK, though.
