Budapest Forum: hotelsvision.com, does anybody know it ?

They are thieves!!! I have reserved with them a hotel in Athens in June. My credit card was charged, voucher printed by me. After arrival at the hotel I was told that there was no reservation, and of course no prepayment. My e mails demanding a refund are not answered for a long time now. BEWARE!

Do not go near them, they are totally fake. I booked a hotel in Portugal and the money was taken from my credit card. Arrived at the hotel yesterday and they had no reservation for us. They are thieves.

I have recently booked a hotel room on this website in Kiev, Ukraine. After reading these comments I contacted the hotel directly and the hotel confirmed my reservation. So the website is not totally fake in my opinion.

I cancelled my hotel reservation and I received a message that the refund would be done in 2-3 days. Today is 2 weeks now and nothing arrived. I am still waiting.

This Company certainly looks very dodgy indeed. I too, foolishly (and unlike me!) have fallen foul of them and have booked a holiday for 3 to Malta with them in October.

Alarm bells started to ring with me 24hrs. after I never received any notification from them, no reservation number, e'mail, nothing.

I started doing some research about the Company and have uncovered all sorts of alarming things. Do not be fooled by the professionalism of their website.

1. The UK phone number is false, if you attempt to call it you are told "you don't have enough credits to make this call".

2. If you google the phone number 0203 291 2287 more dodgy information about it can be found.

3. The 'Live Help' is always offline.

4. I stay in the UK and the money is taken off my account in Turkish Lira.

5. hotelvision.com never complete the booking alone - it is always passed on to another Company - in my case hotelbeds Spain!

6. Depending on what type of Internet security system you use, I use Norton and ALL their websites come up with a ? as opposed to completely genuine websites which come up with a tick.

After finding out all this I went to my bank yesterday (2 days after booking), the money was not out of my account by this time BUT the transaction was pending. The bank would NOT let me cancel the transaction even although I explained to them about all the suspicious activity, Why? because I had authorised it! (much to my anger!) Unfortunately I used a debit card which apparently is harder to get a refund from than a credit card - happy days!!!

I was told that I would have to wait for the transaction to be completed before I cancelled it.

I telephoned the hotel that we are due to stay at and they confirmed my name and reservation - PLEASE NOTE HERE contrary to what their website says - "Your name will not appear at the hotel until 72 hours before your arrival date" - MORE LIES!!!

Okay I hear you say, your reservation has been confirmed, so what are you worried about?

Further investigation reveals VERY SIMILAR COMPANIES with different names with many similarities in common - dodgy phone numbers, money being taken off in Turkish Lira and 1 other VERY IMPORTANT FACTOR - The hotel bookings tend to get cancelled a few days before the customer is due to arrive!!!!!

I have e'mailed the hotel I am due to stay at and have told them UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES TO CANCEL MY BOOKING.

I await a reply and will update the progress here.

Other companies to be aware of with similarities are - hotelsvision.com, Moss Travel, bestbookingcentral.com, hotelcollect.com, myhotelss.com, hotels2foru.com, hotels2foru.com, hotels2foru.com, konukturizm.com, hotelbeds spain (although there appear to be about 3 different sites and some appear genuine), wonderlandhotels.com - there may be many more.

Don't just take my word for it - try googling some of these and you will see some of the horror stories for yourself, especially Moss Travel and wonderlandhotels.com

My advice would be to STAY WELL CLEAR of them all.

Certainly a lesson to me, in future I will pay a bit more and go back to the THREE companies I usually use, all without any trouble - Booking.com, lowcostholidays.com and travelrepublic.co.uk

As I said earlier I will update any new developments.

We found ourselves in a similar situation. Our booking was not confirmed by the hotel (booked 1 week ago). Even though your booking has been confirmed by your hotel in Malta, we dare say there is a chance it will not be paid for. So you will have to foot the bill upon arrival. The Turks will have taken your money and gone with it.

I have just been caught tooooo! Booked an hotel in Sydney with Hoters Vision, Credit Card charged within days, had to print own voucher. When I contacted Hotel they had no booking for us. Cancelled booking using their web page and after a period of time, contacted their customer service Off Line representitive (box on web page) They actually replied saying "The Bank has refunded your money; I will check with them again". Since then (two months) have heard nothing. Cr Card company now dealing with problem. Fortunately I checked before arriving in Sydney and could make alternative accommodation arrangements!

I would like to express my gratitude to the people who have taken the time to post about hotelsvision.com. My daughter and I were going to book our hotel in Ibitha with them yesterday and since reading about this awful scam we have now been saved the extra stress of arriving at the hotel all 7 of us and not having the accommodation booked. I have just applied and been accepted for a credit card for this booking in case the travel company goes bust but even with a credit card I would have been stuck on an out and out wicked scam.

I commiserate for all the poor people who have fallen foul to the wicked con artists and thank the people who brought this to my attention.

I have booked a hotel in malta for the 30th sepember, having read these mails, i have been trying to get a reply from hotelsvision, of course nothing, the phone numbers do not work, i have recieved my voucher but it is incorrect, as i paid for a sea view room, and it does not state this. This is why i became suspicious in the first place. I am in touch with the hotel in malta and will be hearing from on wednesday to see if they have our booking. Has any one at all booked with this company and actually got their hotel room????
