Has anyone else experienced this rather strange man offering tours outside the funicular? He goes on and on about offering you a guided tour and becomes very agitated if you try and interupt him, and when you do have enough and walk away he shouts after you "you know nothing, you know less than nothing!"

I think there was another recent post that sounded very much like your experience... what a jerk. Did you report him to the police or the tourist office nearby?

He's been around for years - there are nutters in every city, but this one can safely be ignored.

We were on Castle Hill this morning and saw this man, so he's still there. He was doing his thing and people were just ignoring him. He seems pretty harmless, if loud, and probably needs help more than arresting.

Sounds like the man we saw on Saturday - oldish with a white moustache and what sounds like a German accent.

He was harmless, we just walked past him, but he did tell us they change the guards at midday which we wouldn't have otherwise known...!!

Oh my goodness - this is too funny! My husband and I were also approached by this "tour guide" when we visited a couple of years ago.

He actually called my husband a "brainless idiot" in this crazy voice after we politely declined his tour. We still laugh about it! The way he said it was hilarious....

We never felt as if we were in danger, and he just went on his way after insulting us.

Budapest is one of the secret gems in Europe and one of my favorite places!

I too know less than nothing after being accosted by this moustachiode monster! He went on and on and on, thankfully his fame preceeded him and I was forewarned by this very forum. He actually stopped talking to me and told my kids he felt sorry for them for having such a mean and incredibly stupid father! I told him he had a nice moustache and he left us to admire the view in peace....

It really was an impressive piece of facial fuzz!!!

I agree with the above post - we didn't feel threatened by him, though he was a quite persistant.
