Spacious with a charm Budapest apartment in District V |
|
Our family just came back from visiting Budapest and we stayed in District V since it is the most central. We stayed in Apartment Kalvin Korona, which is located conveniently across the National Museum and right beside the blue line subway. The apartment has all the amenities you would need to make your trip to Budapest an enjoyable one. It has a main bath with washing machine, The apartment has 2 large bedrooms, the master has a 2 piece ensuite. Each bedroom has 2 single beds that could easily put together to make a double. The TV room is huge and has a pull out couch so technically, you have 3 bedrooms which can accomodate a party of 8 if need be. The kitchen is well equiped for cooking and the dinning table with chairs can easily entertain 8 guests. The well kept apartment has high ceiling and both my wife and I, we are both short so at first it felt a little bit overwhelming but you get used to it. The apartment is located on the top floor with LIFT ;))). this came in handy especially when you have 2 large luggage and a baby stroller. Speaking of stroller, we brought our 8 months old daughter on the trip with us and the owner actually went out of his way to buy a portable crib/playpen for our little daughter to feel right at home which to us is over the top compared to other places we've been to. One special thing about this apartment is that it has air conditioner, which is so important if you planning to visit Budapest during the hot and humid months like we did. The air condtion was a life saver for us and our little baby. Finally, I want to mention the property management that look after us from the minute we arrived to the last night we spent in Budapest, Martin Collins and his wife, Gabby, who run a small property management that looked after us from every single details. Our fllight arrived late in Budapest, around 10:30 PM local time and still Martin came to the airport and picked us up. Other management would have asked us to find alternative transportation. When we arrived at the apartment, Maryin took his time outline the cautions of visiting Budapest, the dos and don'ts and what to see. He also offered to take our family to the Citadella which can only access by car to have the most breath taking view of Budapest. And when it came to say good bye, Martin offered to have someone to drive us to the airport and assure us that we will meet our 6 AM flight. All and all, our trip to Budapest was a well visit, thanks to a large and convenenient located apartment coupled with a gracious host from Martin and his wife to make our trip the most enjoyable one. I definitely recomment who ever want to visit Budapest to stay at the Kalvin Korona apartment because it the ideal apartment you want to be in when visiting Budapest. here is the link to the apartment budapestapartment.org/Budapest/apartments/de… Enjoy. Honestly if I didn't know better I would swear that was the property owner talking......

:) you too? that was my feeling as well. I never pay that much attention to places I stay beyond the obvious. In case you guys want options, I've used this site for friends and family coming to visit - they have many options, all of them centrally located flats. Renting an apartment is only worth it if you stay for more than 2-3 nights as the cleaning fee otherwise will bring it up to the cost of a hotel room - but then again, you have a whole apartment. Don't know about you, but I enjoy late night spaghetti and EARLY morning scrambled eggs. It is no simple feat to find a breakfast restaurant in Hungary. So, here it goes, check them out: http://www.budapestresources.com/node/24

Hi Jason Le how did you book this apartment? What made you decide on this particular property? Do you know the owner? I'm curious, because this is your first posting on this forum & most travellers make multiple postings when planning their trips! Cheers, Mikey36

Hi Mike, I always look for a self catering apartment when ever I travel to Europe. I usually stay more than 3 nights in every city I visited so it makes sense to rent an apartment rather than going to a hotel. I do not know the owner of this apartment but what I did was once I booked my flight and went straight to the internet and due my diligent on the ideal location, amenities, and as well as the price of the apartment. When we decided to visit Budapest, after doing some research, we found that we would like to be in district V since it is the most central part of Budapest. From there we searched for an apartment that was close to the subway, tram and bus route. That's how we came upon this apartment. After a few email back and forth with the property manager, I received some pictures and map of the apartment and it was just perfect. I know other people who read this thread and thought I was the owner of the apartment is wrong. I am just providing an honest feedback for an apartment that deserve the credit that its due for. We also visited Amsterdam and Dubrovnik while visiting Europe this Summer so if you want some feedback on apartment that we rented in Amsterdam or Dubrovnik then I can also give you insight on that as well. But just to be clear, I am not the owner or the property management or have any relation with the establishment. Jason Le

You probably want to past this info in the Reviews section, then, rather than the forum. That way, it will always be available when people search for accommodations. In the forum, it will eventually drop onto the back pages.

nyuszi, Please advise how about in doing so. Thank you. Jason

Hi Jason. If you look at the left of the screen, somewhere you should see a box with a blue top and white lettering saying, Traveler Reviews. Inside that box there's a link, 'Write a review' and the wording 'What was your experience with Budapest? Tell others what's hot and what's not.' If you click that link it will take you to the right page.

I was also told that one of the posts i made about a different apartment in budapest sounded like i was the owner, whatever...people on this forum also told me they thought the apartment was bogus due to the posts etc...i tried to review the apartment but tripadvisor wouldn't accept the review because it was an apartment rented privately not from a company etc...so i posted my review here in the forum. anyways, perhaps jasonle is an honest person who really loved the apartment! i could write a major in depth review about the golden stars where i stayed...my owner too walked me to the bus and showed me where to buy lovely fruit from and went out of his way.... not trying to be controversial here but perhaps he can't review the property due to tripadvisor rules?

Really? I have never had a problem writing a review of an apartment I rented, even if it is not already listed in TripAdvisor. You shouldn't take it personally that your review seemed suspect.. that's just really not what the forums were meant for, so people tend to be suspicious.

Thanks Jason for your description of this apartment. We will by staying here in May 08 . It sounds just what we need. Rose
