Al Dente is across the street from the Spanish Synagogue. The owner is from Italy and opened the restaurant 6 months ago. The food was wonderful and the owner and waiters were very friendly. Nice atmosphere.

TORII - thanks for the offer. But I'm inclined to remain an international man of mystery.

We ate at Aldente last night. It was authentic. It was good.

But.

Didn't feel like value for money to me.

We had two starters (seafood pasta and tomato/cheese pasta), baby lamb chops, and langoustines as main courses.

The pasta was a good deal, around 200 CZK and a lot food, but the main courses were 400-500 CZK and very little food -- five tiny chops, no sides, four langoustines, no sides.

We had a bottle of wine for 360 CZK or so, plus some water.

Total bill for two: 2000 CZK. For Americans, that's over $100 these days.

I understand, the rent must be pretty high in that area. And I liked it, but when I think about spending that kind of money, there's a lot of competition. If the prices were around 30% less, I'd be something of a regular.
