I've been there, it's just wonderfull, not too luxurious but I found it just about perfect. It really had everything we needed, was confortable, the staff was really nice, food was great, the pool area was fine, had a kids outdoor area, the beach is wonderfull, so only nice things to say about it. Perhaps a bit expensive given that it isn't luxurious. Would be indeed perfect for around 100 euros a night. :-D

I had been there 2 years ago in august and I love it, nice bedroom and excellent food. However if you came to Algarve in low season formosa Hotel could be a litle isolated and you could find wind on the beach. There are not shops and restaurants near and rent a car is essencial if you want go to touristic area. If you came in summer time is an excellent choice because is very calm, not noisy and the hotel has free bus to Quinta shopping but in winter...., there are better places to stay in low season. I go to Algarve many times a year and I never choose Formosa in winter, I prefer a place with more people, restaurants, shops and small beach because the wind.
