Best place to stay with family

Looking at traveling to caloundra in June and wondering what's the best hotel to stay at with 2 kids aged 8 and 5. Not wanting to spend a huge amount either but would like to be walling distance to beach. Thanks.

Hi Narelle, have a look at units on Merrima Crt or Dingle Ave they're not real expensive and their locations are second to none. Staying in these units you don't have to cross any roads, you walk straight down to Kings Beach or walk along the fantastic boarwalk to Bulcock Beach. Checkout the Henzells web site, link below, they have a great range of units on their books. Most units in and around Caloundra you normally only have to cross one road.

If you're staying before the 21st June you will be OK, but you might need to book if you're staying the week after, as it's Qld school holiday time.

By the way there are many more agents in Caloundra that do holiday bookings.

Safe travels - Robert

Hello Narelle, We have stayed in Caloundra before it's a great holiday town very relaxing. When we came we decided to stay on Golden Beach which is a much quieter area of Caloundra and it has a nice calm beach for small kids which was perfect. We found staying in the heart of Caloundra was a bit noisy but we really enjoyed golden beach. We stayed at a resort called Gemini which was brilliant as it had really big apartments and no road to cross to get to the beach. The pool was nice for the kids and it had a slide as well. I would recommend this place for families, it's nice to come when it's a bit quieter if you can get off work however :) I just booked on their site below and called to confirm, they have friendly staff. It might suit your family.

Hi

I, too, prefer the relative peace and quiet of Golden Beach. The Gemini Resort is within Golden Beach itself so there's a good choice of cafes and restaurants and also the Powerboat Club which is a short distance away right on the water. There is also an inhouse cafe.

We have normally stayed a little further out at the Jetty Apartments.

If you do look at Gemini, I'd suggest you check that all their building works have finished. When we were there in October there were extensive remedial works going on which were upsetting many visitors we were told. They're probably well finished by now but it always pays to be sure.
