Cheap area to stay

Daughter is going to Perth for stay of over 6 months, wants to rent 1 bed apartment, what is best area close to city centre, cheap but not dodgy, what would rental costs be etc. thanks.

You have probably already heard that Perth is quite expensive for accommodation so be prepared. Rather than be close to the city centre I would go out to areas close to the various train lines. For example, Leederville or Glendalough- both close to train lines and not too far from the city centre. Another area close to the city is Victoria Park and also has a number of units.

You can do your own research on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au - the two main real estate rent/buy sites for all of Aus.

They can be searched via a map so you can zoom in to see what is near public transport etc.
