We're going go rent a camper for 5 days in Melbourne, heading to Adelaide.
Our itinerary so far:
16.02.09, at 11 am: Rent camper in Melbourne
16.02.09: Drive from Melbourne to Apollo Bay, stay for one night
17.02.09: Drive from Apollo Bay to Port Campbell, stay for one night
18.02.09: Drive from Port Campbell to Robe, stay for one night
19.02.09: Drive from Robe to Barossa Valley, stay for one night
20.02.09: Drive from Barossa Valley to Adelaide
20.02.09 at 3 pm latest: Return camper in Adelaide
Now, what do you think about timeing and distances of that route? Are those 4.5 / 5 days too long or just right?
We've also considered visiting Philip Island after picking up our camper in Melbourne (also stay for one night on PI) So that would mean having to cut time for GOR. Where, in case we'd go for PI, would you cut off one day from GOR? I have the feeling there's lots to see and I don't want to rush through it... Is a one day/night stay, / next morning drive to Apollo Bay be worth the time?
Would you rather include that part or leave it out?
It has to be said we'll also be touring on Kangaroo Island for 3 days after one night in Adelaide.
Thanks for your posts.
