This is certainly everything we were looking for in a holiday.
Stayed with friends, so I can't suggest any accommodation, although we did look at a couple for our next year's holiday.
Stayed for one week and took all the advice that we could get from our friends.
For the reef trip, we went out to the Outer Reef with HABA, this is a new state of the art boat, no extra in price and had the most wonderful experience. There were only 48 people on the day and it was very personal as they had enough staff to look after everyone's needs, even a glass bottom boat for the non swimmers.
For the rainforest tour, we went on Tony's Tropical Tours, they are a renowned company and it took us two days before we could book on. We weren't dissapointed, we had the best day out in the Daintree Rainforest, 6 in the vehicle and again very well looked after all day. Highly recommend them, they are truly making a good name for themselves in Port Douglas and we could see why.
We also went on Skyrail and Kuranda, because we were with friends on the day, we drove to Skyrail, went on the cable car to Kuranda, spend a few hours in Kuranda and our friends put us on a train back to Cairns, where they picked us up. Another great day.
Did the markets on the Sunday and had brunch at a little restautant called Soul N Pepper, great food and atmosphere with a view to die for.
Also ate at Zinc (OK), Nautilus,I highly recommend and Zeuss very nice,Waterfront (too expensive for what we got).
Spent a day exploring the Tablelands on our own with a hire car. This was a great day, stopping at many different areas.
I think the only bad part of the holiday was the weather. The winds were extreme and it spoiled the thought of laying on the beach, so next holiday will be in Mid September.
Bye for now
