Fast track service in Darwin airport

I will be travelling with my family to Darwin in early December. I have a son who is born with chromosome disorder, and because of his condition, he tends to throw tantrums and have difficulty quieting down if he gets agitated.

I was considering to use a fast track service to clear the immigration, but was taken aback by the cost for a family of 6 as quoted by the below company.

https://speedpass.yqever.com/

However, I came across another company which is more cost effective

http://www.australiafasttrack.com/darwin.htm

but there isn't much information from the website, and I'm not sure if I want to pay in advance to a company that does not list their address or a contact number. their only contact is a gmail address.

Few years back, when we went to Dubai, the airport staffs actually provided us with a wheelchair for my son and helped us to clear the immigration after they saw my son throwing tantrum and upsetting the other passengers.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone knows of any reliable and cost effective companies that provide fast track service in Darwin, or any alternatives so we may clear the immigration in the shortest time possible.

Thank you.

I have not heard of the companies but Darwin is a small airport and you tend to get processed fairly quickly. If you are flying either Jetstar or Silk there are no other international flights due in at that time. Contact the airline you are travelling with and see how they can help as they can arrange for a wheel chair if that is required though they will wait for the other people to exit the plane first. They may be able to provide some fast track service.

I agree with LSBob, but if the airline can't help I would just explain your situation to one of the immigration staff on arrival (there is usually a supervisor that is floating around). I'm sure they would help you out.

Agree with LsBob and Shaz I don't think these services operate in Darwin. I know these type of services operate in Thailand and Indonesia (Bali) but seriously darwin is such a small airport the cost of $150 plus for each person is a joke. I would point your issue out to the airline staff and I am sure they will fast track you to the front of immigration anyway. Whenever I've been through will small kids they generally call them through anyway.

As a matter of curiosity I've emailed to the second link asking if the operate in darwin and what their service entails. I'll let you know what they say.

Thanks for all the replies.

I googled Darwin airport and saw that it is indeed a small airport. I will take the advises here and ask the airport staffs for assistance if I need help upon arrival.

@ Lou_and_Paul - I'm curious about the company from the second link too. Would be great if you can keep us updated so we will be better informed in future.

Regards.

Well I got an email back and IMO it is an absolute joke for Darwin airport. It is very very vague in that the service will provide to the extent that the airport will allow. I think that most Aussies would be very annoyed if people are seen to be line jumping no matter what the circumstances. Although at Darwin most kids are ushered through the 'air crew' line. The cost is $299uS for one person, which depending on who you flew with is probably more than you paid for the ticket! Seems like the service will get your bags from the carousel and help you with the trolley. Darwin is such a small airport and the lines are not long it just isn't worth it.

Thanks Lou_and_Paul for the update. Guess when they stated that "Fast tracking is given at every stage to the full extent that is allowed by the airport and border control. " sums up what they can provide.

I will see how things go when we reach Darwin.

Thanks again, you guys(or gals) have been most helpful.

It sounds like a lot of money for a simple job and as Darwin is so small they would not really add anything to help your path through Darwin. Just see Silk for a wheel chair for your son on arrival and that alone could speed you through though you still will have a wait at Customs until the baggage comes out.

Here is a map of Darwin Airport and if you use a wheel chair you will have to use the lift to go down to Customs and Quarantine on the ground floor o you may need help from the Immigration people to access the lift.

Hello

With regards to Asia fast track which apparently provides this service in 500 airports according to their website http://www.australiafasttrack.com. I have contacted them on their email. Philip Ho the founder who has only 5 connections on LinkedIn contacted me back. A Quote was given to me. I agreed on the terms but asked him for evidence that he is legit. This was his reply:

"Dear Sir,

I understand your hesitancy to book online and note your request that I somehow prove to you that we are “legit”.

May I suggest therefore that you use a company like Superior Travellers or Diamond Air. They charge a lot more than we do for the exact same service, but I’m sure will be able to put your mind at rest that they are “legit”

Thanks you for your interest

Regards

Philip

I told him I wasn't worried about the money, I was concerned that my family will arrive safely as they are travelling alone. Any how, his mockery was a very clear answer to my question. I would have easily given him my credit card details, thank god he was rude.

Check him up on Linkedin. There are no reviews on the web about him or his company. I wouldn't recommend this company.
