8 days in Sydney - Pls advise iternary

Dear all,

I am planning a trip to Sydney in around end march 2013 for 8 days for wedding anniversary. We have booked a 3 day land tours to Hunter valley, Blue mountain and dolphin watching. Other than the above, pls advise/share other places of interests. we are also keen on the fish market and thinking to visit on weekdays.

we would be staying at City Hotel 193-195 Clarence Street, Central Business District. Any nice eats near this hotels? Many thks in advance for your replies.

The City Hotel is a pub on the edge of the business district.

It is probably a little downmarket compared to the more fully fledged hotels around it, but it is a good location, in less than 5 minutes you can be in Pitt St Mall in the heart of the city, or Darling Harbour or one of Town Hall or Wynyard Stations.

In 15 mins you can walk to Circular Quay or The Rocks.

In the daytime, you won't have any shortage of food places, being a hub for business, and good coffee shops all the way up Clarence St. In the evening the area is a little quieter, but the City Hotel itself does fairly good value food at the Bistro, and Darling Harbour Cockle Bay Wharf is really close and easy.

I think the "City Hotel" pub that inas66 refers to is in Kent Street. It's not the accommodation place in Clarence Street that Jovial is referring to. :)

Manly ferry is a must do.....when you get to manly walk down corso to main beach, turn left and walk to Shelley beach, nice views clear water and good kiosk at the end for fish and chips

Bronte to Bondi walk is awesome, when you get to icebergs pay the $5 to go in, swim, people watch, have a coffee.....you will not find a more dramatic pool in the world. Get a bus or taxi to Bronte there are lots of busses from Bondi

Darling harbour.....go to the new part between IMAX and chineses gdns nice cafes and restaurants

Paddington markets good on sat am.....

Taronga zoo....picturesque accessible by ferry

Go to a sporting event....a league soccer is on over summer

For quick bite to eat try the very good food court in Westfield pitt street mall
