Message for ELLEMAY

Hi Ellemay. Reading the Forums I know you have a great love for Manly. I will be staying for 2 weeks in Manly with my 2 sons (20 & 22) in November. We plan to spend most evenings in Manly so could you advice me on any good places to eat in the evening and any where else we could go to have a good night. (not clubbing). Also do you know if you can still get a book of ten discount tickets for the Manly Ferries or would we be better off getting a green pass for a week. We will be getting a car for the second week. Thanks in advance. Terry.

Hi Tel,

Yes love Manly....grew up in Manly...still go everyweekend for a swim...or we sail to Manly...its the best!

Restaurants are everywhere in Manly. Your sons will love it...hot girls..good nightlife...great surfing. Just be careful at night around midnight as fights can occur on the Corso when pubs close and young people are drunk. Tell boys to leave pubs before closing time thats when most trouble starts usually Saturday nights.( 3.00am) Usually not locals but other people travelling from city to area.

Anyway....its not really a problem but its always better to know and be careful at night..like most cities in the world.

1. Le Kiosk - Shelley Beach. Delightful restaurant overlooking beach.Short walk along boardwalk from Manly Lifesavers Club.

2. Steyne Hotel. Upstairs for casual eating overlooks beach. Plus also has upmarket restaurant upstairs in back. Both are good. Casual for lunch.

3. Manly Italian Restaurant - 2a The corso - upstairs.

4.Manly Ocean Beach House - opposite Steyne Hotel

5.Manly Pier Restaurant - The Wharf.

6.Whitehouse or white something - down from Raddison Hotel.

7. Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club. Manly Wharf walk left around harbour.

8. Fish and chips - Manly Corso.

Transport: www.sydneyferries.infro.com.au (Ferry 10 looks best)

Nightlife: Boatshed - The Corso wharf end.

Steyne Hotel.

Ivanhoe Hotel.

Manly Pacific Hotel

Its all a buzz anyway.

Thanks Ellemay. I think all of those options should keep us happy. Hope to have busy days so will be in bed most nights before the pubs close. I will warn the boys about the fights but by the sound of things it is just like home (Great Yarmouth) late at night. You always get a few people who spoil things for others who are only out to have a fun night. Tel
