Chittaway Bay

Any info on this area would be great as I have a friend who lives there and would like to visit whilst in Syd.

How far away? How to get there? Is it touristy? Thanks

1. Re: Chittaway Bay

Chittaway Bay is on the Central Coast, about 90 mins drive north of the CBD. It is a bay on Tuggerah Lake, one of the string of coastal saltwater lakes which stretch from there almost to Newcastle.

It isn't touristy. You can get a train to Wyong or Tuggerah stations, I'll check which is closer later - bit of a rush at the moment. From there a taxi or get your friend to pick you up.

Just across the lake is The Entrance, one of the more developed tourist towns on the Central Coast which has some very nice beaches around it. I'm not the biggest fan of The Entrance itself - the surrounding area is nowhere near as charming as the southern Central Coast from Terrigal to Pearl Beach, but there is a lot to do there.

Will provide more info later.
