Depends on your preference really. If you don't like seats in front of you, then row 1 is best. Rows 1 or 2 are usually best for meal selection - they sometimes run out of popular choices. But bear in mind there are only 3 rows - 12 seats in total. Any of them are good for the 1-3 hours that you would be in it!

i have flown business class a number of times in the last few years and they have never run out of meal selections (being business class, they want to make sure there is enough of every selection for each person)

once i had a last minute (10min) change onto another flight that was in business class and i was told at the check in counter that because I changed at the last minute, there would be no meal for me as catering had already taken numbers for that flight. when i got on the plane, they they came around to everyone including myself and i said that i was told there would be no meal for me and they replied that they had plenty (it was a full flight also)

i guess some people want to sit in 1A, dont know why but if you do sit in row 1, you are not allowed to have any hand luggage on the floor with you unlike the seats behind.

Lilyana,

At this point you can't seat allocate online and can only request particular seats for OS trips and even those have a maximum number fro pre allocation.

I use the check in Kiosk for domestic and then you can see what is available.

I actually like row 1 because you NEVER get a recliner in front. My luggage goes into the Ohead locker and in row 2 you sometimes get the people from Row 1 place handbags etc under their own seat...bye bye to your leg room.

Never had them run out of food on a Domestic leg in business except for the strike last Jan and we got a selection of cakes etc they rustled up from the previous flight adn a sorry bottle of Champagne (or should i say Austn Sparkling). Economy got nothing!
