Safety Palenque?

A close family member has chosen Palenque to get married. We have a 3 month old born. How safe is to get to Palenque from Villahermosa? Would you consider it risky given what is going on in Mexico?

No, you should have no undue safety concerns on that route. I will be taking my kids there in a couple of months - without fear of anything but sunstroke :))

SteveMex is correct, i done that route on the ADO bus around 4am and didnt have any problem at all. If you travel betwen Palenque and San Cristobal De Las Casas dont do it at night.

You shouldn't have any problems with these route. What is going on in Mexico is happening in specifc areas (many of them, for sure, but somehow localized) and they're nowhere near these two states. You and your baby will be OK.

On top of the sunstroke SteveMex mentioned, be careful with the mosquitoes.

Thanks all for your comments.

We decided to do the trip based on what he heard. The trip went very and indeed it is a very safe route.

We stayed in hotel Villa Mercedes which is very nice and has great ammenities (Spa, Cable Tv, great food, swimming pool)

It is very close to the ruins.

We visited the ruins and they are very well kept! since we had a baby, we were wondering if we could take a stroller. We decided not to take it. However, once we were there, we noticed that they were ramps and access for wheelchairs. So, you can take your stroller if you think you need it.

Thanks again to all
