A day trip

We would like to spend a day in PM , maybe do a bit of snorkelling but mostly just to wander about and get an idea of the place, shop and have lunch . What would be the best day to do this? And where would you suggest for lunch? Someplace with a view would be nice. We think we will go by collectivo. Is it a long way from the highway?

Collectivo is a great option and takes less than an hour.

You will need to catch a taxi to the beach part of town but it is only 25/30 pesos and only takes about 5 minutes.

Wednesday could be a good day as there is a farmer's market and after 6 there used to be a craft fair and music in the main square.

For eating - there are a few places on the beach to eat - we usually ate in town but one with a view we liked was Pangea - lovely staff and atmosphere.

the farmers market and the craft fair is that on the beach side of PM?? I think that would be cool to see. I know there is a collective stand on the beach side, could we catch that to take us to the Pueblo part of PM on the other side of the highway?? Would like to see both parts of PM.

The craft fair is in the main square near the beach and pier.

There is also a street of stalls known as the flea market.

The farmers market is only in the morning and is 2/3 blocks away from the main square away from the beach.

Yes you can take collectivo back to the pueblo too - there is a supermarket there and a few eating places, certainly interesting to walk around the town part. It was very quiet the couple of times we visited.
