Secrets Silversand is open and the feedback is that it is fabulous. There is information/pictures on the Trip Advisor "Riviera Maya" Forum. King Marcus from Germany is there right now and says it is better than Capri and 5 star all the way. Report as inappropriate | ||||||

It opened on August 1st. I'm a travel agent. I have reservations for August 15th-20th. i'll let you know how it turns out.

My contact in Cancun - as well as a TA who was there yesterday - describes Silversands as a war zone. I have to say I find this far more believable than KingMarcus's posts, not to disparage him at all, but IMO it is simply not possible to open and everything be 5 star and fabulous from the first. It just does not work that way. I trust in my contact there in Cancun as she is in the business and has been for 8 years in Cancun. She also is very high on Secrets so her opinion would be giving them the benefit of the doubt. Report as inappropriate | ||||||

caviargirl, I agree that its difficult to believe a trouble-free grand opening when there has been repeated delays. Of course, if there is only 1 couple staying at the resort, like the pictures seem to indicate, 150 staff members or so should be able to handle the load. If there is a prblem with the room, no problem, just move them to the open room next door. Report as inappropriate | ||||||

Unfortunately, she says Maroma is worse. We were scheduled to go the end of this month but rebooked for November and are going to LeBlanc instead. Report as inappropriate | ||||||
