Any recommendations for takeaways (pref other than Chinese/Indian) ? We'll have a car so either Vilamoura or Quarteira will do.

1. Re: Takeaways

Just outside Quarteira close to where the Market is now held unless they have moved it again in Fonte-Santa is the Marufo 1 and 2 one side is the more refined dining the other more rustic which is packed with ex Pats, You can also have takeaways, this is the place which have my Piri Piri Chicken takeaway best I have found there is of course other things.

In Quarteira itself The Dallas close to the Bus Station which also does Takeaways or use to which I use to use before I found the Marufo. On the road past the om Pedro Hotels on the same side as the Caddyshack is a couple of small Restaurants who also do takeaways, On the second level above the Marina there are some reasonable Restaurants who may do Takeways. also a Fish and Chip Shop (ugh)

The place for Info is your friendly Reception Staff.

In Quarteira:

It looks like a coffee shop but in the back is a self-service restaurant/take away. You pay by the weight.

For pizza: http://www.senhorfrogs-quarteira.com/

For P'gese food: http://restaurantetintin.pt/pt

Supermarket Pingo Doce has a take-away counter.

In Vilamoura:

Meant to add that we will be at the Vila Sol, so anywhere close to that would be much appreciated

If you like suckling pig, there's a take away on the EN125: http://goo.gl/maps/iDjBH

They also deliver. Here's the website: http://rosadosleitoes.pt/contactos/ (not in English but you could use Google translate?) There are more take aways along the EN125, you'll see them when you drive there.

9. Re: Takeaways

So far as I know there are no Chinese takeaways and I have never seen nor heard of an Indian takeaway as such. Plenty of pizza houses!

People sit down in restaurants to eat here,

There's a Chinese in Quarteita (Rua da Alagoa): http://goo.gl/maps/Qy4Bw

Senhor Frog's (see my post above) has Italian food.

Villa Nostra in Quarteira: http://villanostra.pt/en (email them if they do take-away?)

Casavostra in Almancil may do take away: http://www.pizzeriacasavostra.com/

Indian Rest, in Quarteira, you could call them if they do take away:
