Unfortunately I cannot remember it's name but there is a fantastic restaurant opposite to the large casino. It is a single storey building with a glass roof if that helps.

Reply for 'bumbleqti' - The best restaurant in Le Touquet is 'Flavio' (1 Ave du Verger - Tel: 0321 05 10 22) next to the Westminster Hotel. I don't think you would be disappointed either with the Hotel itself (Tel: 0321 04 48 48). Others I'm sure you would find acceptable are 'Le Village Suisse' (Tel: 0321 05 69 93) almost the Westminster, or 'Le Manoir' opposite the Golf Course (Tel: 0321 06 28 28). Hope this helps.

Flavio is exceptional but expensive, expect to pay around 150-200 for 3 course with wine for 2 people. The restaurant opposite the casino is called Le Jardin, we have eaten here several times, the service is always excellent and the food always delicious. Around 30-50 per head with wine.

Bon Apetite!

Love to know if the figures you quote for the cost of meals are in Euros or Sterling?

Yes, Balimoon, we have been and gone but thanks for replying anyway. We did eat at Jardin and it was good.

The Tavoli was the worst expierience of all the restaurants we visited in our trip to Northern France. The prices for Lunch were outrageous and the service poor. The Manager mocked us in a haughty manner when we asked for a reasonable wine , salt and pepper and worst of all gave no apopogy when BOTH fish dihes were served RAW. The cost for a one course lunch with one bottle of wine and coffe was €221for 4. Will never return or tell our friends to go there.

We ate at the Jardin a week ago and found the food extremely pedestrian. In addition, they "forgot" to serve my husband the cheese on his 50 euro menu. Don't tell me the French can forget a thing like that by accident!

I would not recommend it.

Totally agree with sbm456 about FLAVIO, where we went for what was supposed to be a special lunch. The service and food is pretentious and ridiculously priced. We were served half a melon as a starter in this supposedly gourmet restaurant, and then a main course accompanied by a strange tasting, gloopy jus and 3 small, lone potatoes in a pot. After starting to feel ill while eating this, we decided to complain, but were told that we couldn't leave unless we paid for all food, including desserts we didn't even touch. The 3 "managers" / bouncers started a full scale argument in the middle of the restaurant and threatened to call the police if we didn't pay. I ended up paying the bill to save the bother, as my girlfriend broke down in tears. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see this tired, overpriced, over-hyped resto on the next series of Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.

PS If you want to eat well in Le Touquet, try "Les Djukes" in the town centre.

Sitting here feeling very full, happy and contented having just got back from a day trip to Le Touquet which was planned solely to visit our favourite restaurant - 'Le Village Suisse'. It's my husband's 50th birthday - we could have gone anywhere but he chose this particular restaurant because we've had such fantastic meals there in the past. They didn't let us down - the food was superb, surroundings relaxed and comfortable and the staff as lovely as always.

Can't recommend it enough. The website is http://www.levillagesuisse.fr/accueil---news/
