Disneyland hotel breakfast info and hotel entrance

Hi we re returning to Disney for our third visit in March and have decided to stay at DLH (stayed at Santa Fe 2010, Hotel New York 2011).

1. We have eaten dinner at both the California grill and Inventions but just wanted to see if anyone could advise on which restaurant to pick for breakfast with 11 and 9 year old girls and an 11 month old baby boy e.g space for buggy? high chair? Choice of food?

2. We are using eurostar and wasn't sure if there is a specific entrance you need to use to get into the hotel to avoid the security checks with luggage (not booked disney express) or do you just go through main security and then through a side entrance?

3. Do room requests work? Have read a lot of reviews saying to ask for a room on the restaurant floor to avoid lifts etc with a buggy, has anyone successfully received a good room on request?

Thanks in advance

Hi disneygirls,

As far as I know the breakfast buffets in California Grill and Inventions are exactly the same, as they are in the other hotels if they have two restaurants open for breakfast. All the Disney restaurants have high chairs available, as long as they are not all being used.

Have you got the Disney Express Checkin Service included or added it to your package? If so, you hand in your cases at the DES desk in Chessy station, to be taken to your hotel. If you have booked Eurostar independently and not added the DES service, and don't want to take your luggage through security checks to the DLH, you can pay €11 at Chessy station for the DES service one way, or €16 for both ways. (per room, not per person).

If you take your luggage yourself, you enter the hotel via the doors near the park entrance, on the right, near Guest Luggage Storage, Guest Relations desk and Salon Mickey.

It is worth requesting a room in a certain area or floor, but not guaranteed. I have always got what I wanted by writing to the hotel Manager, phoning the hotel, or now you can try emailing them as well ( but I would still phone to check they have seen your email).

This is a good video with commentary of the DLH.

Hi, we stayed in the DLH in December and had breakfast in both restaurants. The buffet selection is essentially the same, although slightly larger in California Grill.

I'd also say that the atmosphere in the Cali Grill was a bit more relaxed. We saw plenty of high chairs in both restaurants.

We were never given a choice of where to eat, it just seemed to be a case of being seated at tbe next available table.

Hope this helps. Have a great trip!

Meant to add that in our experience, room requests do work. We emailed a couple of weeks before our arrival date to ask if it would be possible to have a room with even a partial view of the park entrance and that's exactly what we got.

Thanks for all your advice

We booked Eurostar independently as it was £400 cheaper than through disney! So haven't got disney express but think that I might pay for it when we arrive to remove any hassle at security.

PS. They don't take cash at the Disney desk in Chessy station - you have to pay by card.
