AirAsia is a budget airline based in Malaysia, while Thai AirAsia is Thailand based, they shared common website. They are Asia leading budget airline. Like other budget airlines you can't expect things like full service airlines. Taking AirAsia to Bali is like taking a no-frills bus to Bali. Do ensure your visa and travel documents together with a printout AirAsia travel itinerary are with you during the airport check-in. Beware that the airline might re-adjust their flight schedule with last minute notice. To find out more you could send your enquiry via e-mail to them. They are rated 3 stars in Skytrax survey. I took the airline only once from Johor Bahru Malaysia to Kuching Borneo Malaysia.

Hi! I have flown with AirAsia from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan in Malaysia. Also, from Bangkok to Macau in January 2007.

All flights were on time, seats are comfortable, staff were pleasant and I had no complaints. For the return flight in Malaysia, all passengers were on the plane early, so the flight left 15 minutes earlier than scheduled.A nice change!!

The prices are certainly very cheap in comparison to full service airlines, but I did not feel it compromised the safety or standard of these flights.

I will always use them where possible.

I recently (Nov '07) flew on Air Asia from Bangkok to Krabi round-trip. Our flights were cheap, we checked in early, we had minimum baggage and we had no problems. A bottle of water during the flight was 30 Baht. Our flight left and arrived on time. We had great seats, with out Xpress Boarding. Can't rave enough about this airline!!

Air Asia is a well known budget airlines in the South East Asian countries, my experiences with them has been great, just one thing i don't really like is that they are not allocated seating, so it is first in line at the gate get to chose the seats. It's also worth to look at other budget airlines in that region such as jetstar or tiger airways, same price range but may be better suited to your iternary/times.

Hello I'm living in Macau SAR Air Asia is great but being from the USA there is some weird practices like the point to point booking which get frustrating but the price is worth it just don't cut your time short on connections because there tickets not not refundable!! We go Phuket often and it best to just fly to Bangkok and then buy the second ticket at the counter in Bangkok also check out Tiger Airways they can't be beat for price to the Philippines.

We travelled from Bkk to Chiang Mai and back in Nov 2007. I had to change my booking as our international flight from BKK changed. No problems at all doing it online. Both our flights were on time, planes were clean, it was cheap and totally acceptable. We would definitely use Air Asia again.

I flew them from Bangkok to Hanoi in November. The flight was on time. The plane was nice and clean. The crew was professional and charming. The style was somewhat reminiscent of Ryanair -- MINUS THE RUDENESS.

They stress that they're a point-to-point airline. I wonder if they wouldn't even check your luggage through on their own flights.

Air Asia have a baggage allowance of 15 kg and they enforce it rigidly, no smiles, sweet talk or tears will work(I have tried all three). However if you are over the limit put the excess in your hand luggage, which they do not normally check
