I should also mention the Baden-Wuerttemberg ticket for 2-5 people, cost 27 euros, enables up to 5 people to travel inexpensively throughout Baden-Wuerttemberg on regional trains, but only after 9AM on weekdays. Most local transportation is also included.

5 x 4,80 is slightly less than 1 Baden-Württemberg Ticket for EUR 27,00. For further trips the BW ticket is however a good deal.

bodo tickets cover regional trains and buses. To my knowledge there are only regional trains serving the bodo area anyway (which means that all trains are covered).

children 0-5 are free and do not count

children 6-11 count only as 0,5 persons

Single ticket on group fare rate would be just EUR 2,40 from the airport to Überlingen. However two problems in your case

a) you have to announce such trips on group tickets at least 24 hours in advance

b) you can buy group tickets only at DB counters, bodo customer and service centers or from the bus drivers. However not from ticket machines. Which means you cannot buy them at Friedrichshafen airport station (which is more like a tram stop).

You could however use this tariff for the return trip to the airport.
