Paris to Normandy Beaches to MSM

We would like to do an overnight trip from Paris to Normandy. Plan to visit Beaches first and then stay on Mont Saint Michel (Auberge Saint Pierre Logis). Prefer not to drive. Any suggestions on logistics?

You can't do that.

You can.t arrive from paris on the train, visit the beaches and end up in

MSM for the night.

You could get the early train, get picked up for a tour, spend the night in Bayeux and take the churchill shuttle to msm. You'd have to hook the shuttle in advance as there are only 8 places.

Thanks for the idea cpmac. Wondering if there is a shuttle from MSM to Normandy? Perhaps one that isn't associated with that hotel. We are really wanting to stay on the Mont.

What do you mean by Normandy? Normandy is a region of France covering several 1000 sq km.

I think you're going to be out of luck there.

There are usually 4 trains a day between Bayeux and Pontorson between 6AM and 5:45PM on most days. It takes 1-3/4 hours and the one way cost is about 24€. From Pontorson you take the shuttle bus to MSM. Check www.capitainetrain.cm for schedules (schedules aren't available more than 3 months in advance). These are local trains so you don't need to buy tickets in advance. For TGV and Intercités trains you need to buy tickets 3 months in advance for the cheapest prices (i.e. from Paris to Bayeux or Rennes to Paris).

Look at the MSM website for info about the shuttle buses etc.

I suggest arriving in Bayeux in the afternoon/evening and staying overnight. If you arrive in the afternoon you can explore Bayeux and see the tapestry museum. Do a D-Day tour the next day and at the end of the day you might have time to catch the 5:45M train to Pontorson and then take the shuttle to MSM to spend the night. The next day after you've seen the abbey you can take the bus from MSM to Rennes and take the train back to Paris.
