Hi,

Have read positive reviews on Berny Riviere so booked to go at the end of August. We booked a private wooden chalet directly with the campsite but I can't seem to find a review. We recently stayed with Venue Holidays at C'Savio, Venice and found the mobile was musty, old and we had a terrible problem with ants, particularly on the beds so I'm slightly concerned about the chalets having not seen pictures etc.

Has anyone stayed in one and if so what was your experience.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

SARAH

Hi Sarah

Most of the Keycamp wooden chalets are new and have only been up a couple of years, so I doubt mustiness would be a problem. The few private ones they have (in a very quiet by the river area) look fairly new as well but have been there much longer - if you have read my review you'll see one of the private chalets pictured :)

If you do have any problems with your accommodation the receptionist/s on site will do everything they can to help you.

By the end of August all the accommodation will have been used and aired pretty well with other people having left doors and windows open in the sun, so I would think any mustiness, should there have been any, will have gone. We went in early season this year and there was a little damp but that was cured with a couple of hours of having the fire on full blast (needed it on as well because it was quite chilly!) There was no mustiness though.

Unfortunately ants isn't something you can control but they have not been a problem generally at La Croix du Vieux Pont in any of my visits.

Have fun! You'll love it

How long are you going for?

This is an alternative to the usual Disney and Parc Asterix http://www.parcsaintpaul.fr/index2.php

As a PS to the above:

IF you are going to be doing a lot of your own catering when you go, try and use the town Intermarche. It is almost literally half the price of the on site shop.

If you plan on visiting the town on Market day, the market really isn't anything more than you would get in the UK (no idea quite what wfd stand for)

Pierrefonds is a must to visit and it is free but the castle is closed on Mondays :)

And the Armistice Clearing is nice couple of hours for €4 per adult

All are well signposted

The lady in the Tourist Information is lovely and will help you with days out in the area if you;re stuck for things to do

Hi KR,

Thanks a million for your reply. It's always great to get info on places.

Re mustiness, my daughter and myself have asthma so was slightly worried it would aggravate it but you're right by the end of Aug they'll be well aired. We were probably the 1st people in the mobile at Ca'Savio.

We've booked directly with the campsite and heard back from them yesterday that the chalets are newly refurbished this year so thats great and they were also cheaper for the week.

Have tickets through Tesco for Parc Asterix so will definately go there. Have you been to Disney Paris at this time of the year. We had planned a day trip but friends have warned me the crowds would be huge.

Will definately take your advise re hypermarche and places to visit.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it.

PS Wfd is Waterford, Ireland.

Thanks,

SARAH

Hi again!

Not been to Disney at exactly the same time but end of August is quieter than the rest of it :)

Go on a Mon, Tues or Wednesday and it won't be quite as busy. Thursday it starts to get busier with Fri, Sat and sun the busiest. Use your fast pass where you can. If you have very young children who want to go on the Dumbo ride, be warned! This has the slowest queue in theme park history. Even a short queue can have a wait of an hour. That is the only ride I would, and do, avoid

We used the site bus this year and whilst it was great not having to drive there ourselves we did find it left to early to enjoy the Candelbration firework show so, personally, I would not use this option again. If you have Satnav with European maps on it you will cut 30-40 minutes off your journey to Disney if you choose shortest route. It will take you up to the lights on the main road and then straight across rather than turn left (you'll see what I mean lol).

PS: I always forget something LOL

As you go into Disney you'll find a map of the the park. Get one or more and take 5 minutes to plan your route or you will miss something or end up coming back on yourself.

And have a look at the Marne La Vallee forum if you haven't already - lots of advice to be found there about Disney itself

Oh, and you must try a meal at Chez Micheline - signposted at the site but be careful - it is very easily missed but to help there is a photo on my profile :). Great food, great people and so cheap! Book early to avoid disappointment though as it gets full up very quickly

Hello....

I stayed i this campsite last September. We loved it! Although we didn't stay in the chalets we agreed that when we go back this year we will try to book 1 as they looked amazing. Facing onto the river with their own little front garden so you will have a good degree of privacy. You will also be able to park your car inside your front garden for security.

I would be surprised if you don't enjoy!!!

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. My sister has just come back from Berne Riviere and says the chalets look great. For some reason they're also much cheaper than the mobile home was so I'm looking forward to going.

Thanks again,

Sarah

Hi

we stayed here in a mobile home with Thomson which was great. We saw what looked like brand new Wooden chalets overlooking one of the lakes which looked fantastic but couldn't see who they belonged to?

Easy drive to Eurodisney, we used route plan from disney website which was perfect.

enjoy!

Hi there

I am 99.99% certain the chalets belong to the site itself
